At the table I was sitting at, our topic dealt with 'resources'. This is something I am doing in my 'day job'. Hinton Rural Life Center partnered with UNC-Greensboro and NC State University to develop a local resource 'asset map' based upon the model of 'asset based community development' (ABCD).
NC State University has students in a capstone program that are required to work with community organizations to develop a project for graduation. I have permission to share the contact info of the professor in charge of the capstone program. He is interested and excited about the opportunity of NCSU working on a project that could benefit persons state wide. Please see Eric Money's comments below:
That's exciting! I will need to think about it a bit, but I'm sure we could leverage our program and the Capstone experience in some way perhaps if that is of interest to others across the state. We may have to start out with individual organizations/areas and once we have several think about ways of creating a statewide application, if that would be the ultimate goal?...I think that would be a tremendous resource and something our students would be excited to think about contributing to.
