I am in long-term recovery from alcoholism. For me this means I haven’t needed a drink to change how I think, feel or act since January 6, 1976. After years of hopelessness, despair and fear, I I’ve found peace, joy and purpose. I’ve had the opportunity to work in prevention, treatment and recovery, and to support others who are in or seeking recovery. I am passionate about recovery because it has given me a life beyond my wildest dreams. Best of all, my four children have their own pathways of recovery and my six grandchildren are problem free. The cycle of addiction has been broken in my family.
