Please read the descriptions of each topic and rate them below IN ORDER of your interest. You will not be held to any particular group, this is to help us create the proper number of tables and facilitators per topic at the Summit.
TOOL KIT CREATION: Each Tool Kit Table will focus on a specific “Tool Kit” For example, ALLY TOOL KIT would define what a good ally looks like, and how they can help with Recovery Support and Messaging. Create an educational pitch and supporting materials.
DIRECTORY IMPLEMENTATION: The Resource Directory Framework has been reworked with a specialized database. The Directory group will work with reviewing and implementing the data-collection surveys, creating the vetting process and defining the content to be associated with the directory. Identify and determine ways to work with existing directories to avoid duplicated efforts. Identify resources in the region and add them to the directory.
PREVENTION, EDUCATION, MESSAGING AND TRAINING: Determine what the communities in general (as well as specific community segments) understand about SUD consequences across systems. Identify how current organizations address these issues and determine projects which will have the most impact in de-stigmatizing SUD and lead to community support for prevention, treatment and recovery support as an investment in overall community health.
PEER SUPPORT: Navigating the various systems related to SUD is difficult and often confusing. Peer Support is an effective way to assist individuals in this challenge. This group will identify current programs, program models, and implement plans to promote programs which work, and expand effective models to fill gaps in the community.
PRE-ARREST/DIVERSION PROGRAMS: Examine current state of Pre Arrest/Diversion programs across NC. Identify 5-10 open Agencies and implement a plan of action to support the creation of these programs in new jurisdictions using the support of the entire recovery community.
RE-ENTRY/ RETURN TO CHALLENGING ENVIRONMENTS: Collecting resources and experiences across sectors to support Return to Work, Return to School, Re-Entry from Incarceration and return to other possible "toxic" environments.
RECOVERY COURT EXPANSION: Identify current recovery/drug courts and determine best paths forward to implement in the 7 Counties.
