Much appreciation to all who participated with special thanks to our keynote speaker, Clark Gaither, MD, Medical Director for the NC Professionals Health Program and author of Reignite: Transform from Burned Out to On Fire, and to our Master of Ceremonies, Jacksonville County Chief of Police, Michael Yaneiro. And please offer a special “thank you” to our generous sponsors who made all of this possible, by learning more about what they do.
Our other guest speakers who presented on Friday were Steve Mange, Senior Policy and Strategy Council to the Attorney General, Chris Budnick, Executive Director of Healing Transitions in Raleigh, NC, Sarah Potter, Executive Director for APNC, DeDe Severino, Chief of the Addictions and Management Operations for DHHS, and Jarmichael Harris, East Carolina University’s Collegiate Recovery Community Coordinator and Staff Counselor for the Center for Counseling and Student Development.
At the Eastern & Southern Regional Summit, we were fortunate to have incredible leaders from all sectors of these 39 counties, including prevention specialists, collegiate recovery communities, providers, therapists, recovery advocacy groups, coalitions, clergy, first responders including emergency services, law enforcement, various members of government, leaders in the recovery community, and researchers. These individuals joined forces with one another, seated at tables with various topics of concern and began the process of creating action plans for the most effective use of resources and expertise in working towards finding real solutions to this deadly crisis of Substance Use Disorders.
