Please read the descriptions of each topic and rate them below IN ORDER of your interest. You will not be held to any particular group, this is to help us create the proper number of tables and facilitators per topic at the Summit.
COLLABORATION and EXPANSION: The group will review the vision, mission, and scope of the Recovery Alliance Initiative in theory and in practice and identify the stakeholders and key players across the state who have a sphere of influence, but are not represented in the rooms of RAI or have had little involvement to date. The task of the group is to make a list of these missing champions for recovery, and identify how their presence may positively impact RAIs effectiveness.
DIRECTORY IMPLEMENTATION: The Resource Directory Framework has been reworked with a specialized database. The Directory group will work with reviewing and implementing the data-collection surveys, creating the vetting process and defining the content to be associated with the directory.
INTEGRATED HEALTHY COMMUNITY: SUD and Mental Health are one part of the larger goal of creating healthy communities. Begin to answer the question of how we can connect to/collaborate with other aspects/providers involved in the creation of "Healthy" Communities. This is a newly proposed topic and lacks full definition. A group tackling this at the Summit would have the goal of bringing focus or proposing it not move forward at this time.
PRE-ARREST/DIVERSION PROGRAMS: Examine current state of Pre Arrest/Diversion programs across NC. Identify 5-10 open Agencies and implement a plan of action to support the creation of these programs in new jurisdictions using the support of the entire recovery community.
RESEARCH IDENTIFICATION AND SUPPORT: Organize reputable research to reinforce the work of other Recovery Alliance work groups/projects and the general messaging goals of reducing stigma and creating more recovery capital resources in region and NC. Consider goals possible with the GIS Directory being implemented.
RETURN TO CHALLENGING ENVIRONMENTS: Collecting resources and experiences across sectors to support Return to Work, Return to School, Re-Entry from Incarceration and return to other possible "toxic" environments.
TOOL KIT CREATION: Each Tool Kit Table will focus on a specific “Tool Kit” For example, ALLY TOOL KIT would define what a good ally looks like, and how they can help with Recovery Support and Messaging. Create an educational pitch and supporting materials.
UNIFIED APPROACH TO BEHAVIORAL HEALTH RECOVERY MANAGEMENT PRINCIPLES Create a prioritized list of action items to reduce silos using the ROSC and other recovery management principles, with attention to immediately implementable projects within the regions and on a statewide level.
NEW PROJECTS AND IDEAS: Over the years, great projects have been set aside, but not forgotten (Curriculum creation and other education goals for example.) This group will revisit those ideas, and new ones, and evaluate if there is the interest and resources to move these forward in the coming year. This is the group for you if you have ideas not expressed in the above topics.
